Two more days with the Hoebekes in Maine

We had a couple more local excursions with the Hoebekes. They took us to the “Bug Light” park, a lighthouse called this because it’s so small. We also shopped at LL Bean’s flagship store and outlet in Portland, ME.

On the way, Dan pointed out a fishing shack with colorful buoys that he said was probably the most photographed thing in the area. I said, “Well, then I better take a picture.” Dan kindly stopped right there so I could hop out to do so. It was on a curve of a 2-way road so we blocked the cars behind us. As I was snapping the picture, a woman drove around our car and said to me, “Naht the smah-test thing in the wer-uld,” in a perfect Maine accent. I loved it!

This morning it was rainy. The Hoebekes took us to the Orr’s Island library that they helped to remodel and do volunteer work and fundraising for, a beautiful place. After that, it was a great day to catch up on my blog.

While we were here, the truck once again would not start. After testing and lots of texting with Luke, Randy got new batteries and everything seems to be good. Crossing our fingers. Tomorrow we plan to head to Acadia.
