What could be new? —“Grace” by Cornelius Plantinga
What could be new? I LOVE grace, but it’s all we talk about!
Bonhoeffer's Religionless Christianity: Part 4, What Is "Religionless Christianity"?
“…what we need is an interpretation of faith that is ‘nonreligious,’ an interpretation of faith that creates a this-worldliness. That is what Bonhoeffer is trying to achieve with his vision of a ‘religionless Christianity,’ a faith that moves Christians deeper into the world.”
“God did not say, ‘You shall not be tormented, you shall not be troubled, you shall not be grieved’, but God said, ‘You shall not be overcome.'”
A lesser-known quote by Julian of Norwich.
Hineni again - Leonard Cohen
I’ve been fascinated by the word hineni for some time. Never knew there was a Leonard Cohen song about it!
Love is physical—who knew?
When you say, “I love you,” you don’t know what you’re talking about, you don’t have a clue. When you say, “I love you,” it’s manifested in the things you do and the things you don’t do. On a daily basis. Those moments of intimacy that you speak of–there was an agreement that he would receive and an agreement that you would give. And nobody ever spoke it. That’s love. But who knew?
The Most Important Thing To Do Today
Don’t worry about what you ought to do. Worry about loving. Don’t interrogate heaven repeatedly and uselessly saying, “What course of action should I pursue?” Concentrate on loving instead.
