Road Trip - April-May 2026 - #10 - Arrived in Moab

We arrived in Moab on Wednesday, April 29th. The campground, Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway, is great! Surrounded by the red rocks we love. Camping is a good experience (when everything works, which it has so far this trip). After the days of camping with my family, driving across the US (including Alaska) with 4 kids and a dog in a Volkswagon camper, setting up a tent every night, eating at the side of the road, I thought I would be fine if I never camped again, as I’ve said and written before. But we love our little trailer. It feels like glamping, with air conditioning and heating. So cozy.
People at campgrounds are naturally cheerful. No one blinks an eye when you walk to the restroom in slippers and a robe. People wave as you drive through, and ask friendly questions when you park next door.

I was surprised to see a kitty looking at me from this little pet area on the trailer next door. (I didn’t get my camera out quick enough to catch the cat inside.) How clever is this?!
