A Goldilocks Day on Jim Kaemingk Sr. Trail
It’s been at least 3 weeks since I’ve taken a walk. Too hot, too rainy, some other excuse, or just didn’t feel like it. Today was a Goldilocks day — just right. No excuses.
Fishtrap Creek was a mirror today.
Apple variations.
Encounters on the trail:
A family with 4 boys on bikes. The youngest two (twins - I asked) on tiny little no-pedal bikes. One stopped a few feet ahead of me, his brother came from behind and stopped just short of the other. I said, “Oh, I thought you guys were going to crash!” No answer, just turned around and kept going. I wondered: Are they thinking, “What a silly thing to think?” or “Who is this lady anyway?” or maybe like Charlie Brown adults, all they heard was “Waw, wa-wa, Waw.”
A little guy on a bike stopped to tell me, “You look like my granny.” Me: “Do I? It’s a good look, right?” As we both continued our opposite ways, I heard him say to his mom, “That other man looked like Papa, and that lady looked like Granny.” Us old people; we all look alike.
